Do bank transfers go through on holidays?
Generally no. Transfers don't settle on bank holidays or weekends, so payments sent just before a holiday arrive the next business day. For international wires, the holidays of both countries matter - check each side's calendar.
What is the difference between a bank holiday and a public holiday?

Where does the data come from?
Dates are generated from the open-source python-holidays library (MIT), which encodes each country's holiday rules including moveable dates like Easter-based holidays, and we refresh the dataset every year. Details on the about page.
